AI Search Marketing in Poland for Clinics and Restaurants
AI search marketing Poland: how clinics and restaurants get cited by ChatGPT and Copilot, a local checklist, ads plus GEO, and how to measure it.
In short
More and more people in Poland open ChatGPT or Copilot instead of Google when they need a dermatologist in Mokotów or a table for eight in Kazimierz. The assistant answers with two or three names, and those names come mostly from what other sites say about you: Google reviews, ZnanyLekarz, Booksy, Pyszne.pl, TripAdvisor, local media, YouTube. According to a 2025 AirOps analysis of 21,311 brand mentions across ChatGPT, Claude, and Perplexity, 85% of brand mentions came from external, third-party domains rather than the brand’s own website, and a 2025 Ahrefs study of 75,000 brands found that branded web mentions correlate with appearing in Google AI Overviews about three times more strongly than backlinks do.
Your own site still matters, but for freshness, structure, prices and crawler access, not for markup tricks. This guide gives clinics and restaurants a local checklist, a way to combine GEO with ChatGPT Ads and Microsoft AI Max, and a way to measure the result in bookings.
How Poles now ask an assistant for a clinic or a table
Nobody types “dermatolog Warszawa” into ChatGPT. They write: “I have rosacea, I live in Warsaw, I want a clinic with a good reputation that does laser, budget up to a certain amount.” Or: “We are eight people, Friday evening, Kazimierz, one vegetarian, not too loud.” The assistant then compresses everything it can find about local options into a short shortlist, often with one sentence of reasoning per name.
Three things follow. The query is longer and more specific than a search keyword, so the assistant needs evidence about specifics: prices, procedures, dietary options, noise, parking. The answer names two or three businesses, not ten links, so being fourth means being invisible. And the user frequently never clicks; they call, open Booksy, or type your name into Google Maps. That last point breaks classic traffic analytics, and we return to it in the measurement section.
Reliable Poland-specific numbers on the share of such queries are not public yet, so treat the trend as directional and check it at your own front desk: ask every new patient or guest how they found you.
What gets a clinic or a restaurant cited
The research consensus of 2026, in four findings:
- Mentions beat links. Brand mentions on third-party sites correlate with appearing in Google AI Overviews about three times more strongly than backlinks do.
- Most visibility is off-site. About 85% of a brand’s AI visibility is formed outside its own website: media, directories, review platforms, forums, YouTube.
- Access is the fastest fix. About 73% of sites have technical barriers, such as robots.txt blocks, CDN or WAF rules, and JavaScript rendering, that keep AI crawlers (GPTBot, OAI-SearchBot, ClaudeBot, PerplexityBot) from reading them, according to Otterly.ai’s 2026 AI Citations Report. Check yours; you may be blocking them without knowing it.
- Freshness and structure beat length. Direct answers, tables, definitions and numbers with a source weigh more than a 3,000-word “ultimate guide”.
For a clinic that means the assistant is weighing your ZnanyLekarz profile, Google reviews that mention specific procedures, a mention on a Warsaw city portal and a YouTube video of the doctor explaining a treatment. For a restaurant, it is Google reviews, TripAdvisor, Pyszne.pl, local food media and a menu page with current prices.
The sources that matter in Poland
| Source | Clinics | Restaurants | What to do |
|---|---|---|---|
| Google Business Profile and reviews | yes | yes | ask every patient or guest; reply to all reviews; keep hours, menu and price ranges current |
| ZnanyLekarz | yes | no | full profile per doctor, procedures listed, reviews answered |
| Booksy | yes (aesthetic) | no | services with prices, photos, active calendar |
| Pyszne.pl and delivery platforms | no | yes | current menu, ratings, replies to complaints |
| TripAdvisor and Google Maps | partly | yes | photos, replies, identical name and address everywhere |
| Local media (city portals, lifestyle titles) | yes | yes | one expert comment or feature per quarter |
| YouTube | yes | yes | short videos answering real questions, titled in natural language |
| Forums and Reddit | carefully | carefully | honest answers only; Reddit actively removes spam and fake accounts, so astroturfing is not worth the risk |
Reddit is the most-cited domain in AI answers, according to Peec AI’s analysis of 30 million citations, which is exactly why it is policed: Reddit has disclosed removing an average of 100,000 automated accounts a day as part of its anti-bot crackdown. Genuine answers from a named doctor or chef are fine; anything else is not worth the risk.
Your own site: what actually helps and what to skip
Helps:
- Open to AI bots. Allow GPTBot, OAI-SearchBot, ClaudeBot and PerplexityBot in robots.txt.
- Indexed in Bing. ChatGPT search draws on Bing as a third-party search data provider and also crawls sites directly through its own OAI-SearchBot. Set up Bing Webmaster Tools and IndexNow to help Bing discover your pages faster.
- Clean HTML. Prices, procedures and the menu in plain HTML, not only rendered by JavaScript.
- A visible date on every service page and a real update at least once a quarter.
- One page per procedure or dish category, with a direct answer at the top, a price table and a short FAQ in plain text.
Skip, or treat as hygiene only:
- Schema.org and FAQ markup as a “GEO tool”. A May 2026 Ahrefs study that tracked 1,885 pages adding schema against 4,000 control pages found no statistically meaningful lift in AI citations on ChatGPT, Google AI Mode, or Google AI Overviews. Keep it for Google rich results if you already have it; do not pay for it as AI optimisation.
- llms.txt. Optional hygiene at best; there is no confirmed evidence yet that any major AI system relies on it. Harmless, but not a lever.
- Anyone selling a promised top answer. Only about 30% of brands stay visible from one AI answer to the next, according to AirOps’ 2026 State of AI Search report. No one controls the output.

Paid and organic together: ChatGPT Ads, Microsoft AI Max, GEO
Layer 1: Microsoft AI Max. An optional suite of settings inside your existing Microsoft Ads Search campaigns, rolled out globally to all advertisers by August 2026, according to Microsoft Advertising’s own announcement. It makes your ads eligible for more complex, conversational searches on Bing and Copilot, and it is the cheapest AI inventory available. Start here: reviewing the matched search terms is still the closest read you will get on how patients and guests phrase things.
Layer 2: ChatGPT Ads. Poland is one of 63 countries OpenAI’s help center lists as available for self-serve advertisers as of 25 September 2026, including the EU; Ukraine is not on the list, per OpenAI’s Help Center. ChatGPT Ads reached Poland as part of a wider expansion OpenAI announced on 18 August 2026, covering 31 European countries with rollout from 24 August. Your Polish entity (sp. z o.o. or JDG) verifies the account, and the country, billing currency and time zone lock permanently once set, per OpenAI’s Help Center. Some new self-serve accounts can initially advertise only in their home country; other supported countries open automatically once identity verification is approved and a required home-country spend is reached, an amount OpenAI has not published (OpenAI Help Center). There is no agency master account, so the agency is invited as a user.
OpenAI’s help center recommends a starting bid of $3 to $5 and a minimum daily budget of $25, about 100 zł, per OpenAI’s Help Center. Click-through rates vary a lot: one advertiser tracked by Campaign saw 0.91% on ChatGPT against a 6.4% benchmark for Google Search ads in the same sector, a single client’s result rather than a platform average, but the visitor arrives after a conversation rather than a keyword search. OpenAI retired the first version of Instant Checkout on 24 March 2026 and moved checkout back to merchants’ own sites, so the model is “discover in chat, book on site”: your booking widget matters as much as the ad. Details on sequencing the two channels are on the AI advertising service page.
Layer 3: GEO. Everything in the checklist above. Slowest to build, hardest for a competitor to copy.
What not to plan around: Google sells no separate placements in AI Mode or AI Overviews. Ads from existing Search, Shopping and Performance Max campaigns become automatically eligible, and advertisers cannot opt out of that or target it directly, per Google Ads Help. Perplexity ended its advertising program, according to Financial Times reporting from February 2026, via PYMNTS.
How to measure: share of voice and assisted bookings
- Share of voice. Run your 20 prompts monthly. Count how often you appear, in what position and with what reasoning. Tools: Otterly from $29 a month, Peec €89–199 a month, Profound from $99 a month. A spreadsheet is enough for the first quarter.
- Assisted bookings. Assistants often name you without a link, so add “how did you hear about us” with an “AI assistant / ChatGPT” option at booking and watch direct and branded traffic.
- Conversion, not traffic. Published cases show AI visitors convert far better: Opollo’s 2026 benchmark of 312 B2B tech firms found AI-referred visitors converting at 14.2% against 2.8% for Google organic traffic, Semrush found the average AI search visitor 4.4 times as valuable as an organic visitor, and Shopify found AI-referred shoppers converting nearly 50% higher than organic search shoppers on product pages. A small number of visits is fine if the booking rate is high.
- Contract on share of voice and assisted conversions, not on traffic or a position.
6 mistakes clinics and restaurants make
- Blocking AI bots in robots.txt because a plugin did it by default.
- Paying for Schema or llms.txt as GEO. Near-zero effect, per the data above.
- Buying reviews or seeding Reddit. Reddit actively hunts down inauthentic accounts, and it is not worth the risk.
- Hiding prices (“call for a quote”). The assistant recommends the competitor whose page has a table.
- Measuring only sessions from chatgpt.com. Most of the value never carries a referrer.
- Running ChatGPT Ads before the profiles are fixed. The ad sends a warm user to a shortlist where your reviews still lose.
How MOVE Warsaw does this for clinics and restaurants
MOVE Agency has worked with clinics and HoReCa in Ukraine for years and has had a team in Warsaw since September 2026. For the Polish market we combine on-site production (video for YouTube and short formats, photo, Polish landing pages with price tables) with AI advertising set-up (ChatGPT Ads, Microsoft AI Max, Google AI Max) and GEO as an add-on to your SEO.
Pricing: AI visibility audit od 6 000 zł, campaign management od 15% budżetu. We track share of voice and assisted bookings, and nobody on our side promises a position in an answer, because no one can.
The first step is an audit of where your clinic or restaurant stands across the ten checklist items and the twenty prompts your patients or guests actually use. The scope is on the AI advertising page; to book an AI visibility audit, use the contact page. If you only want a second opinion on a proposal you already have, write to us and the Warsaw team will tell you which of its lines are worth paying for.
