In short

ChatGPT advertising has run since February 9, 2026, and since May 5, 2026 anyone can open a self-serve account at ads.openai.com. Poland is on the list of countries that can advertise; Ukraine is not. You set up the account under your own company (a sp. z o.o. or a sole proprietorship), the country, currency, and time zone lock in permanently, and you invite the agency in as a user.

The minimum budget is $25 a day, around 100 PLN, and OpenAI recommends a starting bid of $3-5. CTR tends to run low: one client reported by Campaign logged 0.91% against 6.4% for Google Search in the same industry, but the click comes after a conversation, so it runs warmer. Before you go into ChatGPT Ads, turn on Microsoft AI Max and test one offer for 30 days.

Poland is on the list, Ukraine isn’t

As of September 25, 2026, the OpenAI help center lists 63 countries available to self-serve advertisers, including Poland and the rest of the EU (OpenAI). Ukraine isn’t on the list.

That means two things for you. First, you have a channel that many regional competitors have no legal way into. Second, if you run a Polish company with Ukrainian capital, you advertise through the Polish company or sole proprietorship, not through the founder’s Ukrainian company, because it’s the entity, not the owner, that goes through verification. Confirm the registration form and its consequences with an accountant or lawyer; this isn’t legal advice.

What you can’t buy: Perplexity shut down its ad program, as the Financial Times reported in February 2026 (PYMNTS). Google doesn’t sell placements in AI Mode or AI Overviews separately: ads from existing Search, Shopping, and Performance Max campaigns become visible there automatically, and there’s no way to opt out or target them separately (Google Ads Help).

What ChatGPT ads look like

Ads appear as labeled responses or cards inside the conversation. Targeting runs on conversation topic and user intent, not on keywords in the classic sense. You describe who you want to reach and in what context, and the system decides when a dialogue fits.

Three dates worth knowing:

  • February 9, 2026: ChatGPT ads launch (TechCrunch).
  • May 5, 2026: the self-serve ads.openai.com panel opens (Axios).
  • August 31, 2026: annual run-rate hits $1 billion (PYMNTS).

One important product detail: in March 2026 OpenAI rolled back the first version of ChatGPT Instant Checkout and returned to a “discover in chat, buy on the site” model (CNBC). The user finds you in the conversation, and the transaction closes on your site. For e-commerce, that puts the weight on product feed standards, ACP from Stripe, OpenAI, and Meta (Stripe) and UCP from Google and Shopify, plus a checkout on your own site that actually works.

How much ChatGPT ads cost

Amounts in PLN are an approximation at a reference rate of roughly 1 USD to 4 PLN. The account is billed in the currency you lock in at verification.

Line itemIn USD (source data)Approximate in PLN
Minimum daily budget$25/dayapprox. 100 PLN/day
Minimum 30-day test$750approx. 3,000 PLN
Recommended starting bid (OpenAI)$3-5approx. 12-20 PLN
Campaign management (market range)15-25% of budgetfrom 15% of budget
AI visibility audit (market range)$1,500-7,500from 6,000 PLN

The number that shows the scale of the difference is CTR: one Adthena client logged 0.91% in ChatGPT against 6.4% for Google Search ads in the same sector, a single client’s result in a single industry, not a platform-wide average (Campaign). Fewer clicks per thousand impressions, yes. But every click comes from someone who just spent several messages describing their problem to an assistant. That’s why a click can be worth more than the raw CTR suggests, and why the test plan below measures conversions, not traffic. Published case studies point the same direction: Opollo reports a 14.2% conversion rate from AI traffic against 2.8% from organic across a sample of 312 B2B tech companies (Opollo), Semrush calculates the average AI-search visitor as 4.4 times more valuable than an organic one (Semrush), and Shopify’s merchant data shows conversion rates on product pages up by nearly 50% (Shopify).

The takeaway from the table: AI Max is the simplest way to see how your customers phrase questions to AI. ChatGPT Ads is a test on warmer but pricier traffic. Google Ads stays the base you build on, adding AI Max as an opt-in.

Who this is for in Poland

Five segments where the math already works today:

  1. Aesthetic medicine clinics. High ticket, long research, and patients increasingly ask the assistant: “which clinic in Warsaw does X and how much does it cost.”
  2. HoReCa. Restaurants, hotels, event venues, especially in Warsaw, Krakow, Gdansk, and Wroclaw, where the “where should I eat tonight” conversation happens in chat. Good for premium and group bookings, weaker for a single lunch.
  3. E-commerce with a considered purchase. Furniture, electronics, sports gear, premium cosmetics: anything a buyer compares through dialogue before deciding.
  4. B2B services. Accounting, law firms, IT outsourcing, logistics. A long sales cycle and an expensive lead are exactly where a warmer click pays back a higher CPC.
  5. Companies with Ukrainian capital in Poland. Once the Polish entity is verified, you reach both Polish- and Ukrainian-speaking users, and conversation-based targeting handles a mix of languages better than keyword lists.

Who should wait: companies whose average order is worth less than a few clicks, purely local services with no differentiator, and anyone without a working site. Remember: the transaction happens on your site.

Step zero: turn on Microsoft AI Max

Before you spend a single dollar on ChatGPT Ads, do the cheaper thing first. Microsoft AI Max is an optional set of settings in an existing Microsoft Ads account, rolled out globally to all advertisers since August 2026. It’s the easiest entry point: no new verification, no new platform, no new billing. It makes your ads eligible for more conversational queries in Bing and Copilot, so you can see how your existing Search campaigns handle this traffic before you spend a dollar anywhere else. As always, we sequence the channels for you, and we cover that on our AI advertising service page.

How to set up an account: entity, verification, currency

There’s no agency account in ChatGPT Ads. That one fact shapes the whole process.

  1. The advertiser verifies its own entity. In Poland, that’s a sp. z o.o. or a sole proprietorship with its registration details.
  2. Country, currency, and time zone are set at verification and can’t be changed later (OpenAI help center). Choose PLN if you report and book in zloty. EUR only makes sense if you’re deliberately running a multi-market account out of Poland and accept converting every invoice, but settle the currency choice with an accountant first; this isn’t tax advice.
  3. A new account can only advertise in its home country at first. Other supported countries unlock automatically once identity verification is approved and required spend in the home country is reached; OpenAI doesn’t publish that figure (OpenAI help center).
  4. The agency is invited into the account as a user. Your data, billing, and history stay with you.
  5. Prepare your landing pages before verification finishes. Approval time varies, and site work shouldn’t wait on it.

For Ukrainian companies without a Polish entity, there are two real paths left: a partner company in Poland or another EU country, or Microsoft AI Max from an existing Ukrainian Microsoft Ads account.

The 30-day plan

WeekWhat happensOutcome
0 (setup)AI Max on; one landing page per offer; conversion tracking; ChatGPT Ads verificationaccount active, measurement confirmed
1One offer, one audience, minimum budget (approx. 100 PLN/day)first impressions, baseline CTR
2A second angle on the same offer (different conversation context)which contexts convert
3Scale the winner, pause the losercost per lead, lead quality per sales
4Compare against AI Max queries and assisted conversions in analyticsdecision: continue or not

Test budget: from around 3,000 PLN in media (minimum $25 a day for 30 days) plus production of two to three landing page and creative variants. Don’t launch three offers at once on a minimum budget; you’ll learn nothing about any of them.

How to measure test results

  • Measure assisted conversions and leads, not sessions. ChatGPT often mentions a brand in conversation without a link, so direct and branded traffic rises before “visits from ChatGPT” does.
  • Compare conversion rate against Google Search, not CTR. AI traffic runs 4-5 times warmer than organic, because the user arrives after a dialogue, not after a headline.
  • Set your decision threshold before week one. For example: cost per qualified lead no worse than 1.5 times your Google Search benchmark. Write it down and stick to it.

6 mistakes Polish companies make in the first month

  1. Verifying the wrong entity. A founder’s Ukrainian company or a personal account can’t be fixed later; the lock is permanent.
  2. The wrong currency. EUR looks international, and then accounting asks why every invoice needs converting.
  3. Skipping AI Max. It costs almost nothing and shows how your Search campaigns handle conversational queries before you pay anywhere else.
  4. Judging by CTR. A low CTR can be normal in this channel. Judge lead quality instead.
  5. Sending traffic to the homepage. “Buy on the site” only works when the page answers exactly the question from the conversation.
  6. Buying “Perplexity ads” or a promised spot in ChatGPT’s answers. The first no longer exists; nobody can deliver the second. A place in the answers is earned differently: we cover it in our article on getting into ChatGPT answers.

MOVE Warsaw’s offer

MOVE Agency has run performance and content for clinics, HoReCa, e-commerce, and B2B for years, and since September 2026 has had a team in Warsaw. That team does two things that are hard to buy separately: on-the-ground production (video, photo, landing pages in Polish) and launching AI advertising on ChatGPT Ads, Microsoft AI Max, and Google AI Max, with GEO as an addition to your SEO.

Pricing for the Polish market: AI visibility audit from 6,000 PLN, campaign management from 15% of budget. Nobody can promise a position in ChatGPT’s answers, so the contract tracks share of answers and assisted conversions instead.

If you want to know whether your company is a fit for a 30-day test, start with an audit. You’ll find the scope on our AI advertising service page, and you can order an AI visibility audit through the contact form. The audit will show you in numbers whether to spend your first 3,000 PLN on ChatGPT Ads or on AI Max and GEO first. Questions before you order? Get in touch; the Warsaw team answers in Polish, English, or Ukrainian.

Frequently asked questions

Can a Polish company advertise on ChatGPT?
Yes. As of September 25, 2026, the OpenAI help center lists 63 countries available to self-serve advertisers, including Poland and the rest of the EU. You set up an account at ads.openai.com, verify your own company (a sp. z o.o. or a sole proprietorship), and the account's country, currency, and time zone lock in permanently.
How much do ChatGPT ads cost?
The minimum budget is $25 a day, around 100 PLN, and OpenAI recommends a starting bid of $3-5 per click (around 12-20 PLN) at a reference rate of roughly 1 USD to 4 PLN. A minimum 30-day test starts at around 3,000 PLN in media budget.
Can a company based in Ukraine advertise on ChatGPT?
Not directly, since Ukraine isn't on the list of advertiser countries. The real paths are a Polish or other EU company that verifies the account, or Microsoft AI Max, which runs from an existing Microsoft Ads account in any market, including Ukraine.
Can an agency run my ChatGPT Ads account?
Yes, but only as a user inside your account. There's no agency account in ChatGPT Ads. Your company verifies the entity, holds the billing and data, and invites the agency in. If you switch agencies, you remove one user and add another.
Why is CTR in ChatGPT so much lower than in Google?
Because the user is mid-conversation, not scanning a results list. One Adthena client logged a 0.91% CTR in ChatGPT against 6.4% in Google Search in the same industry, per Campaign data, not a platform-wide average, but the click comes after the user has already described their problem in detail, so it runs warmer. Judge the channel by conversion and cost per lead, not by CTR.
