In short

Google Ads management for auto repair shops at MOVE: setup costs from $330 one time, management from $440 a month. The repair shop pays the ad budget to Google separately. Results are counted by calls and bay visits through call tracking, GA4 and matching phone numbers against the booking log.

How much does Google Ads setup and management cost for a repair shop in Ukraine?

The one-time Google Ads setup at launch is paid separately or included in a starter package. The management price depends on the billing model, the number of repair categories and whether there is an online auto parts store.

MOVE packageCost of workWhat to clarify before launch
MOVE fixed price (Basic: search + Maps)$330 setup one time + $440 a month managementFor a local repair shop in 1 market without a product feed
MOVE fixed price (Advanced: search + Shopping + Performance Max)$830 setup one time + $640 a month managementFor an auto repair shop that also sells parts, oils or tires online

Prices as of November 2026. In all models, the shop pays the ad budget for clicks directly to Google from its own card or business bank account.

The “Basic” package on the MOVE Google Ads setup and management page includes 2 stages of work:

  • Setup ($330 one time): access and a check of account history for restrictions and suspensions, keyword research for repair shop services and negative keyword lists, ad and extension copywriting, building search campaigns and Google Maps ads, remarketing, goal and conversion setup in GA4 and GTM, UTM tagging.
  • Management ($440 a month): account work 2-3 times a week (around 10 sessions a month), bid adjustments and daily budget reallocation between services, control of Target CPA and Max Conversions automated bidding, ongoing review of actual search terms and adding negative keywords, ad A/B tests, reconciling GA4 with actual leads, and a monthly report with a review call.

Related work is billed separately from Google Ads management if the shop does not have it yet:

  • Google Business Profile verification and setup ($120 one time) and review moderation ($50 a month) within marketing strategy and audit;
  • creating a landing page for repair shop bookings;
  • ad banner design ($10 per size on the paid ads and performance page), Meta or TikTok management, and YouTube ads.

Where can I get a quote for Google Ads and ChatGPT advertising with a split budget?

In Ukraine, MOVE prepares a quote for Google Ads and ChatGPT advertising management, with the agency fee listed separately from the platforms’ ad budget, after a free 30-minute account review. Each channel in that estimate has 2 separate columns: payment to the team for the work, and the media budget the auto repair shop transfers directly to the ad platform.

When you order both channels, 3 technical platform rules apply that directly affect the contract and invoices:

  1. You cannot buy separate placements in Google AI Overviews. According to the official Google Ads Help article on ads in AI answers, ads from active Search, Shopping and Performance Max campaigns enter the AI Overviews and AI Mode block automatically, with no separate toggle or surcharge for that placement.
  2. A Ukrainian auto repair shop opens a ChatGPT Ads account under its own legal entity. According to the OpenAI Help Center on Ads Manager availability, self-serve registration at ads.openai.com is open in 89 countries with “Available” status, including Ukraine and Poland. The shop verifies its own Ukrainian legal entity, under the OpenAI Ads Manager account setup rules fixes the country and currency permanently, and invites the agency into the account by email.
  3. Targeting in ChatGPT Ads works by conversation intent. According to the OpenAI help article on the basics of ChatGPT ads, the recommended starting bid is $3-$5 per click and ads show based on the topic of the dialogue, for example when a driver asks the assistant where in Kyiv or Lviv to check a CVT or a hybrid battery before buying a car. The minimum campaign spend is $25 a day, as the OpenAI help article on creating ChatGPT Ads campaigns states. Step-by-step launch is covered in the articles how to launch ChatGPT ads and ChatGPT and AI search advertising agency.

To get a quote for both channels in 1 file with separate cost lines, leave a request on the Google Ads page or the MOVE contacts page.

How do you count calls and repair shop bookings instead of clicks?

The cost of an actual bay visit equals the monthly ad budget plus the agency fee, divided by the number of confirmed car visits from ads. Clicks and raw calls do not show whether the ads pay for themselves.

The formula for an auto repair shop owner:

Cost of a bay visit = (platform media budget for the month + agency fee for the month) ÷ number of cars from ads that arrived at the shop

According to the WordStream Google Ads Benchmarks report (US data, 13,474 search campaigns from April 2025 to March 2026), in the “Automotive - Repair, Service & Parts” category the average click-to-lead conversion rate is 15.51%, with a CTR of 5.56%, a cost per click of $4.35 and a cost per lead of $29.96.

Still, a large share of inquiries is lost during the phone conversation with the front desk.

To connect Google Ads spend with actual cars on the lift, set up tracking in 6 steps:

  1. Connect the ad account to your Google Maps listing. Link location assets in Google Ads to your profile so ads show the district, distance to the bays, opening hours and a directions button. Preparing the listing itself is covered in the guide to Google Business Profile for business.
  2. Turn on phone call tracking. Add call assets per the Google help article to campaigns for direct calls from mobile results, and install dynamic call tracking on the site with events sent to GA4. Count conversations of 30 seconds or longer as conversions to filter out wrong numbers and accidental calls.
  3. Split campaigns by high-margin repair categories. Create separate ad groups and landing pages for major engine overhaul, automatic transmissions, steering racks, suspension, auto electrics or the body shop, and at launch add negative keywords such as “DIY”, “forum”, “used”, “salvage yard”, “diagram”. Pepe Hernandez, Senior Director of Optimization Strategy at LocaliQ, explains why this alignment matters in the WordStream Google Ads Benchmarks report:

“Platforms reward a tighter connection between keywords, ads and landing pages.”

  1. Store the GCLID and the driver’s phone number. Every online booking form and every call through call tracking should record the customer’s phone number and the GCLID parameter (the Google ad click identifier) in the CRM or the service advisor’s spreadsheet.
  2. Send confirmed visits back to the ad account. Upload the “booked” status and closed work orders weekly or automatically through Google Ads offline conversion import. Then the Smart Bidding algorithm selects auctions for drivers who actually make it to the bay.
  3. Check missed calls weekly. If call tracking shows a growing share of unanswered calls in the morning and lunch hours, add forwarding to the duty administrator or a callback form before raising the ad budget.

How do you choose a Google Ads agency for an auto repair shop that delivers calls and bookings?

Choose a contractor by how it connects search queries to phone calls and lift visits, and by who owns the ad account. Check candidates against 7 questions before signing the contract:

  1. Whose email are Google Ads, GA4, GTM and Google Business Profile registered to? All accounts and statistics history should belong to the auto repair shop, and the agency connects through its MCC partner account.
  2. How does the contract separate the agency fee from the click budget? A transparent estimate always lists payment for setup and management separately from the money Google charges.
  3. What radius and rule do they use for geotargeting? For a city repair shop, choose showing ads to people physically located in the selected city or radius around the shop, so the budget does not go to users from other regions looking up repair diagrams.
  4. How do they build keyword lists and negative keyword lists? Ask to see the ad group structure by service and a starting list of negative keywords for the auto niche.
  5. How are calls from the website and Google Maps recorded? Ask directly which call tracking systems the team integrates and how the report separates first inquiries from new customers from repeat calls by drivers whose car is already on the lift.
  6. Do they set up offline conversion import from the CRM or the front desk log? A contractor who stops at taps on the phone number on the mobile site sees only the intent to call instead of an actual booking.
  7. What work is included in monthly management, and what is billed separately? At the start, clarify how often search terms are reviewed, the cost of new landing pages for seasonal services, and work with reviews on Maps.

Why do auto repair shops count Google Ads and Meta in one system?

Google Ads and Meta work as one pair: search catches the urgent breakdown, while Instagram and Facebook remind drivers about the shop and seasonal maintenance. So calls and bookings from both channels should be counted in one analytics system.

Why it matters to keep the 2 channels in a shared analytics system is explained by their effect on each other. A study by Kireyev, Pauwels and Gupta (2016) in the International Journal of Research in Marketing showed on one advertiser’s data that display impressions at the top of the funnel raise the number of search clicks and the conversion of paid search, while the last-click model credited the entire result to search.

For an auto repair shop it works like this: a driver sees a live video from a clean bay in their Instagram or Facebook feed, remembers the name, and a week later types it or a service query into Google. In our production case for the auto repair shop Avtomotiv we built exactly the visual part on Instagram and TikTok (video production, Reels, SMM and content): it delivered 671,500 reach per month (+86% reach growth) and +34% inquiries to the shop. When content production, paid social ads and Google search work in 1 team, videos with the mechanics strengthen both social media and branded search. For a detailed matrix of budget allocation between channels, see the article Google Ads or Meta targeting.

When will Google Ads not pay off for an auto repair shop?

Search ads will lose money if the front desk misses incoming calls, the Google Maps listing has a low rating, or traffic goes to a slow mobile page. Paid search quickly brings drivers with a breakdown, so any failure in service instantly turns clicks into direct losses.

It is worth postponing an agency launch in 5 situations:

  • The front desk misses incoming calls. A driver with a knocking suspension or an engine warning on the dashboard rarely waits several hours for a callback and immediately calls the next repair shop in the results.
  • The Google Maps listing is filled in formally, with a low rating and unanswered complaints. The driver goes from the ad to the location listing, sees complaints about missed deadlines and closes the tab.
  • All bays are booked weeks ahead with no free slots for diagnostics. Running urgent queries such as “car repair now” or “tire service near me” at full capacity means paying for clicks and then turning people away on the phone.
  • Only small one-off services with minimal margin and no repeat customer base are advertised. If a repair shop puts bulb replacement or tire inflation on paid traffic and does not keep customer contacts in a CRM to remind them about scheduled maintenance in 6 months, the acquisition cost from search will exceed the profit from the first visit.
  • The budget covers less than 4-6 weeks of work. Search algorithms need time to collect statistics on target inquiries and filter out informational queries.

If you are not sure whether your funnel is ready for paid search, start by checking the Maps listing, the phone system and the economics of 1 bay. Frequently asked questions

How much does Google Ads setup and management cost for an auto repair shop in Ukraine?
At MOVE, the basic setup for a local auto repair shop costs $330 one time, and monthly management costs $440. For a repair shop with an online store for parts or tires, the advanced setup costs $830 and management $640 a month. The shop pays the ad budget to Google separately.
Where can I get a quote for Google Ads and ChatGPT advertising with a separate agency fee?
At MOVE, the fee for the work and the media budgets sit in separate columns of the estimate. For Google Ads, setup costs from $330 and management from $440 a month. For ChatGPT Ads and Microsoft AI Max, an AI visibility audit costs from $1,500 and campaign management from 15% of the ad budget. The shop pays for the impressions directly to Google and OpenAI (ChatGPT Ads requires a minimum of $25 a day from a verified Ukrainian legal entity).
How do I choose a Google Ads agency in Ukraine that will bring more calls and bookings to my repair shop?
Check 5 things before signing: whether the ad account and GA4 are registered to your email, whether they connect your Google Business Profile for Maps placements, whether they set up call tracking that filters out short calls, whether they handle negative keywords such as "DIY" and "salvage yard", and whether they import confirmed bookings from the CRM back into Google Ads.
Why should a repair shop count Google Ads and Meta in one system?
A driver can see a video on Instagram and then type the shop's name into Google. Without shared UTM tags, GA4, and reconciliation against the booking log, both channels report the same lead. So calls and bookings from search and Meta are combined into one funnel.
Can you run Google Ads for a repair shop without a website?
You can run local ads to a completed Google Business Profile with a call button and directions on Maps. But without separate landing pages for suspension repair, automatic transmission or auto electrics, the shop loses precise ad relevance, GA4 analytics and GCLID transfer to the CRM.
